• It says textbook code already claimed or textbook code doesn't exist.
  Email tech@mlpchinese.com with a photo of your code, and we will respond. 80% of the time, someone else in your family already created an account. 20% of the time, you're reading an 0 as an O.
• I forgot my username or password, what do I do?
  Please go click on Forgot Password? on the account login page. You will be asked for the email that you registered the acccount with. Our system will then send your USERNAME and a password reset link to that email. If you forgot your email, please email tech@mlpchinese.com with either your username or the Textbook code on your CD.
• Is there a way to move textbooks between accounts?
  Before you start, please note that each account can only have one textbook from each grade level, and tracks a single student's use information. When you move a textbook, it saves the usage and score information of that textbook, so no work is lost.
  To move textbooks:

  1. Write down the textbook code of the textbooks that you want to move.
  2. Select the correct code on the left hand side and click "unclaim".
  3. Log in to the other account and claim the textbook using the textbook code that you wrote down.
• I claimed my textbook, but now I can't see it!
  This is probably because you are logged into a different account. You can go here and put in your email to see how many accounts you have. If you still have the claim code, you can try claiming it again, and the results page will tell you which account it's currently on.
• Do I need to create a new account every year?
  No! Just click on "Claim a Textbook" in your existing student account in order to claim a new textbook.
  (Note: you can't claim the same grade level textbook more than once on the same account. If you have siblings, you should create 2 separate accounts. In order to minimize logging out, you can have one sibling use Chrome and one sibling use Firefox.)
• How do I join a classroom?
  First, make sure you have a classroom code from your teacher. Then, on your student account page, click on Join a Class to join a class!
• How do I add a textbook to my current account?
  1) Log in to your account via a browser (not iPad app)

  
  

  
  

  2) Click on "Claim a Textbook" in your existing student account in order to claim a new textbook.

• 我的两个孩子在同一个账户上，应该怎么办？
  You should have two different accounts for your two children.  If right now they are sharing an account, you should create a new account for one of your children.
  
  To do so, please：
  1）Write down the code of the textbook that one of your children is using. (It is at the top of the textbook image)
  
  2)  Unclaim one of the textbooks from the existing account (use the "Unclaim" option in the bottom of the left sidebar.  Don't worry, we save the data when you unclaim). 
  
  2）Then, use that code to create a new account for one of your children.
• 我的孩子有两个账户，怎样并成一个？
  1) Pick the account that you want to remove, and log in.
  2) Write down the textbook codes for all the textbooks registered to that account.  (They are at the bottom of each textbook image)
  
  3) Unclaim all of your textbooks from it. (Use the "Unclaim" feature on the sidebar, at the very bottom.  Don't worry, we will save all of your textbook homework data and progress)
  
  4) Log in to the account that you want to use, and use the "Claim a Textbook" button to re-claim your codes.  All of the data will be imported into that account.

• How do I start using Online HW?
  Click on Getting Started with Online HW and follow the instructions there!

• How do I join a classroom?
  First, make sure you have a classroom code from your teacher. Then, on your student account page, click on Join a Class to join a class!
• Clicking on the train door leads to a blank page
  You are probably using an unsupported browser. Please use Chrome, Firefox, or the iPad app.
• The load time is so slow!
  Unfortunately, the FIRST load time tends to be slow -- we are cacheing a lot of images, and also a 12MB font file. It should be much faster after the first loading of any game.
• I see a black screen, what do I do?
  RELOAD the page. If you've tried it several times and it still doesn't work, please Report a problem.
• How can I redo the homework?
  Unfortunately, you can't redo the set homework. However:

  • to re-listen to the lesson text, click on 自由听课文
  • to re-watch the video, click on 自由听课文
  • to re-play the games, click on an open door.

• The microphone isn't working!
  1) Please check that your microphone is enabled.
  2) The microphone requires HTML5 support, so please make sure you're using Google Chrome.
  3) For browser security reasons, the webpage is not allowed to automatically turn on the microphone. You have to click "Allow" on the pop-up. (If you accidentally clicked "not allow", you might have to reload the page or restart your browser.) See example here:
  
  If you accidentally click "don't allow" and the preference is saved: here's how to make this website an exception in Chrome (steps 1-5).
• Recording error in robot games on iPad
  When you first try the game on iPad, Apple will prompt you to allow "Speech Recognition" and "Microphone" usage.    

  You might have clicked the "do not allow" option by mistake.  

   

  Please go to Settings - MLP Chinese HW, and reset the two permissions listed:

  
  
  
• "Mic can't hear you" in robot games
  This means the speech recognition engine could not detect any human speech.  
  

  If using iPad app, double check you've allowed Microphone access.
  If using Chrome, make sure your Microphone is ON.  You may test here.

   

  Tips:  

  1) be closer to Microphone;

  2) play the game in a quiet environment;

  3) start saying the word AFTER 'Click to say' is pressed, not at the same time;
  4) for single character words, it may help to say the word twice.

• Where can I find Exercise Completion Code?
  Exercise Completion Code (作业码) shows up when you complete an exercise.
  You can also get it by clicking on the open door of the completed exercise on "train screen".
  
  
  
• Where can I download old recordings?
  1. From student account,  click the thumbnail image of a previous textbook to load it, and then click on "My Scores".
  
  

  
  
  

  2. On "My Scores" page, select the Recording tab. Click on the "three dots" sign and the Download option will appear.
  
  

  
• Why did I get "Vimeo is not defined" for the video activity?
  You probably have a web content blocker on and Vimeo isn't white-listed.
• Video issue on iPad app
  Since late Oct 2022 our videos on iPad app have been impacted by certain changes of our video host site.
  We've submitted a ticket and been waiting for a fix from the site.
  
  Workaround:
  1. use Chrome on a computer to watch video;
  or
  2. update iPad app to 10.6 and click the provided link to watch the video in browser and then come back to app.

  2) Please check if you received a shipping notification. Search for the invoice # from the order confirmation. The shipping email should have a tracking #

  各位用户，马立平中文教材2015年秋季开始从多媒体光碟作业升级为网络作业，已经进入第六个年头。
  
  从2020年9月15日起，我们不再接受任何拥有光碟版教材的用户索取网络作业课本码的要求。特此说明。
  
  如您购买的是光碟版教材，请用光碟做作业。
